I know we have been bad about posting lately, but here is what we did in December. First is our family picture for 2011.

We were able to go to Arizona for Christmas. We spent Christmas with Steve's family and got to spend some time with my family too. Here is Christmas morning.

Paige loves to be pretty.

She also likes to pretend to sleep a lot.

We went to the aquarium at Arizona Mills with my family.

Then we went to a train park and had some fun

Steve's parents got a horse and Paige loved being able to help feed the horse.

Baby #3

We are happy to say that we are expecting a new baby May 10th. I have been really sick with this pregnancy and have just started feeling better these last few days, hence the new post. The only thing different with this pregnancy is we found out that I have a blood sack. I got sent to see a specialist, she said that it should go away and that I shouldn't worry unless I started bleeding. And there has been no bleeding and things are still progressing. Steve and I think that it will be a girl, but it would be awesome to have a boy too.

Parker started preschool. We ended up doing a preschool with some girls in our ward. Parker has really liked it. Here is Parker on his first day of school. Paige couldn't help getting her backpack too and getting in on the picture fun.

My mom got to come out for a week and spend time with us. We went up to Kirtland, OH and did some site seeing. Then we got to go to the Columbus Zoo. It was huge and very well done. The whole time Parker wanted to see the gorillas and of course they were like the farthest thing away, but we made it and they did not disappoint.

For Halloween Parker wanted to be Luigi and so we let Paige be Princess Peach. Here is a picture of them at Parker's preschool Halloween Party.

Parker's Birthday

Parker had his 4th birthday on Saturday. We were lucky enough to have his first friend birthday party. Parker wanted a Mario Brothers themed party. I couldn't find any decorations so I turned to the internet to find some ideas. We got a playground for outside for Parker's birthday and just let the kids play out on it and then we pulled out our bouncy house and also got a slip and slide and had a kiddie pool. We just let all of the kids play outside the whole time, except when we did food/cake/presents. The party went really well and Parker is already planning his birthday party for next year.... Pirates! We will see, it could change.

I made rice cripsey stars, marshmallow mushroom toads, and Oreo truffle bombs. All in keeping with the Mario theme.

We were lucky enough to have Steve's parents come out for Parker's birthday. They got the kids a wheel barrow that pulls behind our lawn mower. Our kids LOVE it! Here is how our kids use to ride the lawn mower.

I have started practicing the piano, kind of, and Paige and Parker have decided that they like to play the piano too. I find them all the time playing all the time.

When we were in Phoenix last month we went to the Sea Life Aquarium with my mom. It was so cool.

We were in Phoenix for my sister Amanda's wedding. I was able to make her wedding cake for her. It was my first wedding cake, but I think it turned out pretty well. Paige was with me when I was shopping for supplies for the wedding cake. She had a hard time with the jet lag. 3 hours is a long time.

Our 4th of July

For our 4th of July we went over to a friend's house and got to do some fireworks. They got some really cool fireworks and then we were able to see the firework show from their backyard. We weren't able to start the fireworks until it got dark, around 9:30pm and then the show started at 10:00pm. The kids were getting pretty tired, but didn't really notice because it was so cool.

We made some dirt dessert before we went over for fireworks and we told Parker that it was dirt and he didn't want to eat it. He finally saw that it had gummy worms in it and he thought that it would be alright to try them. He still wouldn't eat the pudding. After we told him that it was just pudding and cookie crumbs, we made him take a bite. You can see from his tears that he didn't believe us. He wouldn't eat any more after that. Paige on the other hand thought that it was yummy!

Chick fil a was giving away free food today if you dressed like a cow. So we made some costumes and went down there. Here are the kids in their cow costumes. Too bad I had to be the one taking the pictures so you didn't get to see me in mine. :)

Paige wanted to go see the cow too, but when she got about 3 feet from it, she changed her mind and only wanted to stay by me.

Ohio

Well we have been here for a month now. Steve's work paid for our first month at the Residence Inn and then we were on our own on finding a place. Our last day was on Easter so we had to move to the Comfort Inn (a much more affordable place) until we close on our house. We have about 3 weeks. I really miss the 2 bedrooms and kitchen/living area. We have been here 1 night in our studio type of hotel room and it is hard.

Well for Easter we did it small this year, knowing we would have to be packed up and out of our hotel that same morning, there wasn't a lot of time. We knew we would have no fridge for a few hours, since check out time and check in time leave a gap (so hard with kids and nap time and EVERYTHING was closed for Easter Sunday) . We decided to decorate the plastic eggs so we wouldn't have to deal with eggs going bad. We got a whole bunch of stickers and stuck them on the plastic eggs. Then we left them out and the Easter Bunny came and filled them with candy/toys and hid them around our hotel room. I would show you pictures, but we took them on Steve's phone and he is at work. We also got the kids pictures taken in their Easter outfits, but I haven't gotten them out of the car yet. So... look for them soon.

Here is a picture of our new house that we should (hopefully) close on in a few weeks. There have been way more problems closing then we have anticipated. Most of them coming from still owning our home in Arizona, but we think everything is figured out now.

Well Paige is just bouncing off the walls these days. She loves to climb and get on top of everything. She can get up on our couch at the hotel and has discovered the pleasure of indoor playgrounds. She will climb all through the tunnels and go down the slides. Parker will help her if she gets lost and can't figure out how to get down.

She also loves to go to time out with Parker, which is funny because Parker is usually in time out because he was being mean to Paige. Don't you just love Parker's face!

Parker has had a hard time not going to preschool these days. He has more spare time and he has discovered the love for photography. I will find him with my phone all the time taking pictures of us, his toys, and furniture. Here are some of his pictures he took.

Oh and have I mentioned how much it rains here! It is crazy. They say it is their rainy season and I believe it. I think we have gotten 12 inches in the past month. April showers brings May flowers right? Well that just means lots of hot chocolate for us. This week we are suppose to have 1 day that wont rain.

On the move

We moved out of our house and are looking to buy our next house in Ohio. We have put in a couple of offers, but nothing has taken yet. I forget how much I don't like the house buying process. Sure it is fun to look at houses, but the whole thing about putting in an offer and waiting to see if it is accepted is stressful.

Paige turned one a couple weeks ago and so we got together with some family and had a small party for her. It was hard because her birthday was the day after we moved out of our house, but I did get her cake done. She loves her stroller that she got. She pushes it everywhere. She has also learned that she loves riding on merry-go-rounds. If she sees one she will point to it and grunt. If we don't go to it she will try to get to it on her own. She weighs 19 pounds 15 ounces- 49% and she is 50% for her height, and 74% for her head. Parker helped me design Paige's cake and even helped me make it. He was so proud of it.

Goodbyes

We have been busy these past few weeks. We are moving to Dayton, Ohio in a couple of weeks. We had to find someone to rent our house before we could move. It was very surprising how quickly we rented our house. Our renters are moving in next week and we are going to move in with my parents for a couple of weeks before we make the big move. During those couple of weeks, Steve and I will be going out to Dayton to look at houses and get to know the area better. We get to leave our kiddos with my family for our trip. We have already found a house that we like. Steve saw it, I have only seen pictures, and we put an offer on it. We should find out in a couple of days if we got it.

On a sad note, we had to get rid of our dog Cesar. We will be staying in corporate housing when we first move out to Ohio and driving with Cesar, staying in hotels, living in temporary housing all would be HUGE headache. And we don't even think we can have him in the temporary housing. So we put up an ad to see if we could find him a loving family that would take really good care of him. Well this ad was also answered quickly. 15 minutes later we found someone who would be perfect for Cesar. He went home with them tonight and we are very sad and tears were shed for him. Poor Parker doesn't even know yet that his dog is gone. We didn't know how to break it to him. We will miss him, but we know he will be with a great family who will take really good care of him, probably better care than we would have even given him.

Our Christmas, a little late

For Christmas we got to go to my parents' house and celebrate with them. Parker and Paige are very loved by all of his family and it showed in the gifts that they received. Parker was loving every minute of it. We had so much fun hanging out with them and this was my brother's last Christmas before he goes on his mission. He is going to Anchorage, Alaska. He leaves February 9th.

After Christmas Parker, Paige and I went on a trip to Utah with my mom and brother. It was Parker and Paige's first real experience with snow. All Parker wanted to do was to build a snow man, but it was too cold and the snow wouldn't stick together. All he could do was make a snow angle. He was not happy with his snow angle because when he got up from making it he had to step in it and it made it "all messy".

We have flagstone in our back yard and our dog, Cesar, likes to dig in between the flagstone. It doesn't look very pretty when he does that. So one week when my father in law was down here, he decided to take on a project of putting cement in between the flagstone. Well it was a pretty big project and he got most of it done, but I had to finish up putting some of the cement in. Luckily my brother helped me finish it up. It was too hard to try to do it by myself with two kids who really cant help much. Well here is the finished project.

Paige found my drink while we were waiting at a tire store getting new tires put on my car. She was very sneaky. Good thing she can't drink out of a straw yet.

I had to add this video of Paige. She started walking the day before she turned 10 months old, so we are counting it as 9 months old... it counts right? Well a couple of weeks ago she was playing in our closet of toys downstairs and I turn around and she came out like this. It is Parker's sword. By the time my father in law got out his phone and started filming her she had been doing this for a couple of minutes. Enjoy!

We have been crazy busy with things. First we went up to Steve's parents' house for Thanksgiving. Then we flew to Florida to go to Disneyworld and Universal Studios with my family. Steve had to go to Orlando for work so he didn't get to the parks with us, but he got to hang out with us at the hotel. So that is why he is not in any of the pictures. Then we went straight to Williams, AZ to go on the Polar Express train ride with some of Steve's family. Enjoy the pictures.

Here we are at a deer farm in Willams. You actually got to feed the deer and walk around by them. They would just come right up to you and want you to feed them.

By my parents' hotel in Orlando there was a McDonalds that said that it had the biggest playplace in the world. So of course we had to go see it. It was a lot like Chuck E Cheeses. They did have a big play ground, but there was a lot of video game/ticket games.

We went and did some miniature golf too.

Harry Potter World. It was the reason my family wanted to go. It was impressive.

This was Parker's favorite ride. It was at Universal Studios. It was in Dr. Seuss land. You rode the ride and these fish on the side spit water at you. We got pretty wet.

Parker also loved the merry go round. We rode it a lot too.

Parker loved to see the princesses, but he was so shy.

Parker hit his head and it was the biggest goose egg I have ever seen so I thought I would just put a picture up of it. Ouch! He was a tough little guy. I really think it looks like an egg.

Halloween

We have been working on letting Paige cry it out at night. We would have started earlier, but her doctor told us not to let her cry too long because her voice has been scratchy for months. Well I think her voice is getting slightly better so I decided that it is time for her to fall asleep on her own. Well she is one stubborn little girl. We have a picture of Parker just like this here.

This is from our trunk or treat last night. We were lucky that our family could come celebrate with us.

Steve was a dragon in a castle (Pictures below of making the castle), I am the wicked Queen from Snow White, Paige is Snow White, Kiersten is Cinderella, my Mom is the hunter from Snow White, and Parker is a knight that kills the dragon in the castle (aka Steve).

We went to the zoo with my Mom a couple of days ago. Here are some pictures from it. Paige was so tired by the end of the day.

Parker's preschool had a Halloween party this week. They all got to dress up in their costumes and Parker won most creative costume in his class. Here he is with my friend Ashleigh making a Halloween craft. They even had a bouncy house at the party.

We carved our pumpkins this week and we were lucky that Steve's mom was in town to help out. Parker didn't want to touch anything inside of the pumpkin because it was yucky. He even broke down in tears. He got over it as you can see. Paige's was the ghost and Parker's is the face.

Paige turned 7 months old last week. I never put up her 6 month stats from the doctor so here they are a month late.

Weight 17.5- 75%

Height 27 1/4- 94%

Head 17- 70%

Steve old roommates had a Halo Reach party on Saturday which happened to be his brother Garrett's birthday. Since they were both going I decided to make a Halo cake. My sister Amanda helped me make it. You can see a mention of Garrett's birthday in the next picture.

Last Wednesday was his other brother's birthday, Jordan. We took him to Dave and Busters for dinner and some games.

Every September all of the girls in Steve's family get together for women's conference and we go up to Pinetop, AZ for a craft fair and watch conference together. This year the boys got together also and did a fishing trip in Pinetop. We met up afterwards and drove home together.

6 months

Paige turn 6 months old this past weekend. Here is her 6 month old picture. Paige started doing like a push up crawl about 4 weeks ago and can get pretty much anywhere she wants to go. Then today she got up on her hands and knees and started to rock back and forth trying to figure out how to crawl that way. She didn't quite figure it all out, but she is a determined child. Parker is having a blast in preschool and is learning a lot. Yesterday we forgot to take his backpack to school and when we got there we realized it and there were tears involved. He got over it, but he had to tell everyone he saw about it. We also cut Parker's hair. It is the shortest we have ever cut it. I think it is very cute and it is easier to keep looking nice too.

How we spent August

Parker started preschool a couple of weeks ago and is really liking it. Here are his pictures from his first day of school. We were lucky that Steve was able to take the morning off so he could come with us to drop Parker off for the first time.

Then we had Parker's birthday. He has been telling me for weeks that he wanted a Candyland birthday cake. So I made this for him. He was a very happy boy. We were so lucky to have a party with a lot of our family there. He was spoiled with love and presents. All he has been doing for the past few days is playing solely with his new toys. Thanks to all who came and for the birthday wishes from everyone who couldn't make it.

Utah trip

Here is Paige at 4 months. She weighs 15 pounds 4 ounces (80%) and is 25 1/2 inches long (90%) and her head circumference is 16 1/4. I love how happy she has become. She loves to smile all the time.

We put her in her bouncer because she loves to jump all day long.

When we went to Utah we were able to have fireworks because they are legal up there. Parker thought they were so cool.

My aunt was getting her landscaping done in her backyard so they had big piles of dirt dumped and the boys had such a good time playing on it. I don't think Parker has ever done so many boy things. Every night before he went to bed he HAD to take a bath. There was no choice because he was just covered in dirt like every boy loves to be.

We got to go to the Dinosaur museum while we were up in Ogden. They have huge statues of the dinosaurs all over the park and we got to walk around and see them. My mom and sister were with us for the trip. We had so much fun seeing everyone.

We got to pan for gold at the park.

Parker got to ride a horse for the first time.

Happenings

We finally moved Paige into her room a week or so ago and we finally finished putting it together. I would still love to paint it, but all in good time.

Paige always seems to fall asleep with Steve.

We went to Jeepers last week to get out of the sun. Parker had so much fun. I always forget how much Parker sweats when he plays hard. Just reminds me what a boy he is.

We went over to our good friend Ethan's house a couple weeks ago and as we were getting ready to leave Ashleigh and I found Ethan and Parker pretending to be Mr. Potato heads in the mirror.

We got to go to a mini family reunion on Steve's side of the family over Memorial day weekend. We went to Chino Valley, AZ. Steve spent some of his childhood growing up there and now his Great Uncle lives there. It was fun for Parker to see some farm animals like chickens and mules. They also got to go on a small hike.

Our life lately

Parker got to be in a dance recital that a girl in our ward did for some of the kids. It was pretty much all girls except him and his friend Ethan. They got to be Buzz Lightyears since they both had the costume.

We haven't gotten a double stroller yet, but Steve figured out a way so that both of our kids could ride in the stroller. If you look closely you can see Parker is underneath the car seat. There is just enough room between the carseat and the stroller for him to fit without being squished.

Here is Parker and his friend Ethan. They are only about a month apart. Below is Paige and Ellie, Ethan's little sister. Paige and Ellie are only 6 days apart. We are so lucky to have such great friends.

We have been having so much fun with this little girl and are so thankful that she is in our family. Parker loves to play with her and hold her hand. I just love her blue eyes. I am hoping that they stay blue. We are able to bless Paige a couple weeks ago and we are so thankful that our friends and family were able to make it.

It is so crazy having such a small baby. Yes I know she really isn't that small, but when I compare her to how small (or I should say large) Parker was at that age she really is tiny.

In other news we have been working on potty training Parker for the past couple weeks. I was about to give up thinking I was trying too close to having a major life changing event in Parker's life, Paige, but then yesterday we started to see some improvement. And today has been even better than yesterday so hopefully he will get the hang of this.

Welcome to the world Paige Alyse Nelson. Paige was born March 4, 2010 (yes 6 days late). She was 8 pounds and 20 3/4 inches long. Neither Steve or I thought she was going to be that small. We started contractions at 2:30 am and finally at 6:30 am we headed to the hospital and my Mom stayed with Parker who was still in bed. My contractions were 5-8 minutes apart but because I tested positive for group b my doctors said to get to the hospital early so they could start antibiotics so Paige would not get sick. Well by the time we got to the hospital my contractions were slowing down and after we had been there for an hour my contractions had pretty much stopped. So they did an ultra sound just to make sure I had enough amniotic fluid and to make sure things were still okay with Paige. Everything looked fine so they asked me if I wanted to try some induction gels. They were going to try 2 rounds with the gel and then start some pitocin. Well we decided to go ahead and try it because we were going to be induced in a couple days anyways. Well once they put the first round of gels in I started contractions right away. And they were right on top of each other with literally no breaks. After about 40 minutes they slowed down slightly so they were only maybe 30 seconds apart. And I finally got an epidural, which was wonderful. Paige came soon after that. It was about 3 1/2 hours of labor once I got the gels until she was born. It was so fast and very calm. When she was born she had the cord around her neck, but the doctor was very fast at getting it off and there was no complications from it. They placed her on me once she was born and she fell asleep. Because she was born so quickly they couldn't get enough antibiotics in me to protect her so they had to test her blood and do blood cultures to make sure she was alright. Her test came back with a high white blood cell count so they put her on antibiotics and had to keep her for 48 hours. Everything was fine though and we got to take her home after that. She has been such a great baby. Good eater and sleeper, most of the time. And we are so happy to have her in our family.

4 days past due and counting

Well here we are 4 days over my due date and I think this little girl doesn't know she is suppose to come out. We went to the doctor yesterday and I am at 3 cm, which is crazy because I was admitted with Parker after 3 hours of labor at only 3 cm. So they said they would do an ultrasound on Friday to make sure that everything is still okay, and yes I will be 41 weeks then. And then if everything is still good then they will induce me Saturday morning bright and early. Just thinking about being 8 days late makes me sad. But the doctor doesn't think I will make it to Saturday and she will come on her own. She apparently is extremely low. So here's hoping that she will come today.

This is our new puppy Cesar. It has been a challenge trying to potty train him, but he has finally got it down.

Here we are at 35 weeks. I can hardly believe that we have just a month left. And if you don't know it is going to be a little girl.

Yesterday was Parker's 2nd birthday and we had so much fun. He had a dinosaur party. Amanda and I made his cake and then he had a dinosaur pinata. Because he was the only kid, he got all of the candy. No need to worry though, his parents will help him eat it. Parker was able to blow out both of his candles all by himself.

It was Steve's and Amanda's this week and we did a Pinanta for Amanda's birthday party. Parker loved it so much. I think we will be doing another one for his birthday that is in a couple weeks. Then we played Guitar Hero.

We have been very busy these past few weeks. We have been trying to buy a house but have found it is difficult to compete with everyone else. By the time we get an offer in, there have been multiple offers made on the house. Hopefully soon though one of the houses that we make an offer on will work out.

We also found out that we are pregnant. We are expecting our new one on February 26. That make me 10 weeks along now. I have been feeling really good, besides feeling tired all the time. We are very excited. Parker is excited also. He likes to pat my stomach and kiss it, but other times he says that he is the baby or that he has a baby in his tummy. We think once I have a belly he might understand a little better. We already had an ultrasound and I got to see our little one kicking around and moving his/her arms. I love ultrasounds.

Vegas

This week Parker, Amanda, my Mom and I went to Vegas for a couple days. We got to stay at Mandalay Bay and spend some time at the pools that they have. And I must say that they are very cool. We also got to go to the M&M factory.

Here are some pictures of Steve and Parker hanging out. Parker thought the water shooting up in the air was pretty cool, until a big wave of water came and he jumped off right into Steve's arms, but still got really wet.

We converted Parker's bed to a toddler bed this week to see if he would be able to do it well. The first night he came out 3 or 4 times and then went to bed and there were no problems. Even in the morning he got up at his usual time. I was thinking this is a piece of cake! Well the next few nights have not been as perfect. He went to bed about the same but then got up 1 AM and got the bed rail off and I was way too out of it to put it back together so he came to bed with us, which is always hard because he loves to roll around and lay ontop of me. Then he got up really eary. 5:45am. And last night he was up at 5:15am and I mean up up. So I am now listening to him crying himself to sleep in the portacrib. We are going to Vegas in the morning with my sister so Parker and I both need a better night sleep. We are going to try this toddler bed thing again once we get back in a couple days.

My dear friend Katie had her bridal shower on Saturday and I got to make her cake for her. She said that she didn't care what it looked like so I decided to go very nontraditional. Amanda helped me make it and Kiersten watched Parker while we made it. They were such a great help.

Job

Steve's job finally got his background check finished and he will start on Monday! I am so excited for him to be able to start working and to start this new chapter in our lives. Steve also had another chest x-ray to make sure that things are clearing up in his lungs and everything is looking good. He has some scarring in his lungs, but we are just happy at how quickly everything has cleared up. We got Parker's hair cut again. Only this time we had it cut the shortest it has ever been. He looks a lot older now, but I do realize that my little baby is growing up and is now a big boy. It is hard to call him a big boy instead of my baby. I will post pictures soon of Parker's new hair cut.

We give Parker our old cell phones to play with because he likes to talk on phones. Well yesterday he got one of them and figured out that he could plug them in to the same chargers that we use for our own cell phones and he could get his to turn on. So he did it and here is a video of him doing it. He definitely got his daddy's smarts about electronics. He also figured out how to open up the xbox 360 and take out the DVD and put a new one in and close it up. Then he will turn on the TV. And right now while I am writing this on the laptop he got the power cord and put it in for me. He is growing up so fast.

The good and the bad

We have had a very busy couple weeks. To start off Steve got a job. It is in East Mesa. He will be programing simulations to train soldiers in the military. He will be starting the background check soon and then hopefully will start working soon. That is the good news. The bad news is that Steve is in the hospital. I took him the the ER while we were up in Bullhead City visiting his parents a week and a half ago on Saturday. They told us he had bronchitis and a virus. With sleep and good rest he should get better in a few days. We came home and he wasn't really getting better. Finally on Wednesday he agreed to go to urgent care to see why he was still so sick. Walked in and they took his vitals and told us if they couldn't get his breathing up we would have to go to the ER. Well they couldn't so we went to the ER. Turns out he has a very severe case of pneumonia and he also has influenza. So they admitted him right away. His release date keeps getting pushed back because he isn't improving very quickly. Yesterday they pushed his release date to the 2nd of April. When we first got to the hospital they put him into isolation and he is still in a isolation room. They made us put on these masks, gloves and gowns. Now we don't have to put them on unless we get within three feet of him. And on another note I had to take Parker into the doctor on Friday because he was getting sick also and we didn't want him to get what Steve has. It turns out that he just has another ear infection and is on antibiotics and should get better soon. I just want to say thank you to all our friends and family who have helped us during this time.

FUN

Parker, Amanda, Kiersten, Mom and I were able to go to a rodeo a few weeks ago. Parker loved to see the horses, cattle and bulls. But most of all he loved to eat the Cowboy Popcorn.

Parker got a puzzle awhile ago that has the alphabet on cardboard pieces. Well he decided that those pieces needed to go inside the Wii. So he ejected the disk in the Wii and started putting in puzzle pieces. And of course we didn't notice him doing this (because he is sneaky). So the next time we started the Wii we couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Then we saw the disk hidden and figured it out. Steve had to take apart the Wii to get the puzzle pieces out. We were so worried that it wasn't going to work and even more worried that we would lose all our data. All that hard work to pass Mario Kart (April would love that). Well my brilliant husband was able to not only get the pieces out but it worked and still had all our data on it. If you look really hard on the last picture you can see in the circle holes blue and pink, those are the puzzle pieces.

As Parker grows he is becoming more active and even more brave. The other week we took Parker to McDonald's and let him go on the playground by himself. I was so nervous because it was a Saturday and there were a lot of kids playing. We let him play at the play ground in the park so I figured that he would be able to handle this. Well he did. He had so much fun climbing up to the top and then climbing down the slide, yes, climbed down the slide.

Parker's vocabulary has been growing so quickly. He really likes to say yes and no to questions that you ask him. Well today I asked him if he wanted to go take his bath and he said no and shook his head at the same time. And it was so funny. All day long whenever we ask him something and he wants to say no to it he will shake his head also and then laugh with us afterwards. He has started to say short sentences. Just small things like "Who is it?" or "What is that?". It is amazing to see him understand pretty much everything we say. He is growing up so fast.

Christmas

We had so much fun together for Christmas. On Christmas Eve Parker woke up from his nap with a temperature of 103.1 and we decided to call our pediatrician to see if we should bring him in or just wait and see if Tylenol would work. He said just to give him Motrin and Tylenol and see if it worked and it did. But Christmas morning again he had another high temperature but it went away with more medicine. It was like that off and on for a few days and then he started putting his finger in his ear so it was time to take him in. He ended up having pretty severe ear infections in both ears. But other than that we had a great Christmas and Parker loves his new toys.

My friend Katie and I went to California this weekend for the OC swap meet. It was so much fun. It was an all day activity. We walked around and around looking at all the shops and found some pretty good deals. Then we went on an auto ferry. I have never been on one before and it was a little weird feeling the car rock back and forth with the waves. Next we went to an art festival and saw a glass blower make a fish. Very cool. Then we went to the beach and later that night went to the mall. Yes, I know what your thinking. Was that really all in one day? Yes, yes it was. We had so much fun and will definitely have to do it again.

We made our traditional gingerbread houses. Parker had a blast doing it this year. Every time we handed him a piece of candy he would try to put it in his mouth and we would have to stop him and show him he could put it on the house. Every time. It was like he wanted to lick every piece before putting it on.

We just got back from Parker's 15 month checkup. Here are his stats:
weight= 25.02 (50%)
Height= 33 1/2 (97%)
Head= 19 1/2 (95%)
He had to get shots today also. He was such a trooper. He didn't cry at all. He whimpered a little when each of the needles went in, but no crying. The nurse said he was her best patient of the day. I am such a proud mom.

I went to the doctor on Wednesday for my sore throat that I have had for three weeks. Turns out that I have tonsillitis. So the doctor gave me some antibiotics and amazingly enough, thinks I will live.

Holidays

We got to go and visit Steve's family for Thanksgiving. Parker loves seeing his cousins and being able to play with them. We are lucky that they live close enough so we can see them often.

We went and got a Christmas tree last night and got to decorate it for family night. We made gingerbread cookies and hung them low on the tree because Parker likes to take them off and eat them. We also got to put up all of the Christmas decorations.

April, Steve and I went to go see Twilight again because I just couldn't believe the reviews that it was getting. I thought it was so bad and yet it was getting pretty good reviews. This time we went at a decent hour instead of going at midnight. Well we ended up really liking it. I must have been so tired last time that I just wasn't really getting the whole movie. It was like I was seeing it but not really hearing it. So I now really liked it and would recommend it.

OK so I went to the midnight showing of Twilight last night and I must say that I had my expectations way too high. I did not like it. I mean it was really bad. I wont say anything more than that for anyone who hasn't seen it but I think you should be warned that it is not as good as the book. I had a pre-twilight party at my house before we went to the movie. I made white chocolate fondue and then dyed it red to make it look like it was blood. It was our "vegetarian" food. And then we had apples and held them like the book cover of Twilight. It was a lot of fun and probably the best part of the night. We ended up having 10 of us go together. Thanks for coming guys!

There were 9 showings of Twilight at our theater alone last night. I couldn't believe that there were so many people out that late.

Trick or treat... well just the treat please

We took Parker trick or treating last night with April, Roderick, Emma and Katie J. We had so much fun taking the kids around. Since Emma is only 6 weeks old Parker got to hold her pail after a while. He would go up with Emma and hold out both of the buckets and people would put their candy in them. After a few houses the buckets got really heavy, because people thought they were so cute and gave them WAY to much candy. Parker's bucket got too heavy for him and it started to drag on the ground. He would not let anyone help him carry it or help him walk or just hold his hand. He thinks he is so grown up.

Steve graduated on Friday with a degree in game and simulation programming. I am so proud of you! Now he will be on the job hunt looking for a job in the video game industry.

We also had our ward's Halloween party. It was a lot of fun. We dressed up as characters from Phineas and Ferb the cartoon show. Parker was Perry the Platypus, Steve was Dr. Doofenshmirtz, and I was Candace. We had so much fun having everyone there with us. Parker was so excited once he figured out that people were putting candy in his pail.
Steve and my mom were the ones to make Parker's costume and did such a great job.

We went to the park today and had a great time. They have a train that you ride, a carousel, a water playground, and a regular playground. Parker had a fun time in the water playground running around with the other kids that were playing there. He got braver and braver and eventually got in the middle of the main water area with everyone else. Then we went and rode the train and Parker wasn't really sure what was going on, but it was nice ride. Next was the carousel. Parker knew exactly what that was! He loved riding it. Parker had another appointment with his craniologist today. We have been seeing him for about a year now. It was just another check up to make sure everything with his skull is going well. He told us that things are still going well and that he is pleased with the use of physical therapy to treat his skull instead of using a corrective helmet. He called it a "small miracle". The doctor was so pleased that he was showing his colleagues Parker's progress. He is pretty sure that he will not need surgery, but will wait until his appointment in four months to decide that. He thinks the appointment in four months will be his last appointment with him. We just have to keep doing his physical therapy.

A good toddler craft

Parker and I made these Fruit Loop necklaces one day as a fun craft that we both could do together. He would hand me the Fruit Loops and I would thread them on. Of course he would have to eat as many as he could while I was threading, but he was a very good helper. Then he got to eat them once we were done. We made a couple of them so we could save them and put them in our diaper bag to use while we were out and about. I have to say that they become handy when we have been out a long time and he is getting restless. It gives him something to do without a big mess.

O.K. I was totally in distress over the whole Midnight Sun thing that I totally missed that the Twilight movie is now coming out 3 weeks early!! November 21, 2008. The Harry Potter movie has been moved from Thanksgiving to next summer, thus opening up a spot for Twilight! This is so exciting!

Well the Twilight books are officially over! Stephenie Meyer was planning on writing Book 1 through Edward's perspective and call the book Midnight Sun. She had posted the first chapter or so on her website and because there was so much excitement about it she decided on writing the whole book. Well I guess she had given out a couple different drafts to people she knew and someone posted one of the drafts on the Internet. Because of this Stephenie Meyer has decided that she will not continue the book. (!!!!!). She also posted the draft that was released illegally on her website so that people would not have to go searching for it. So here it is. I have to say that I really enjoyed reading this book in Edward's perspective. It was really nice to get to know the Cullen's characters a little better. Well I hope you enjoy. It is disappointing when it ends just under half way through, but I guess we all know how the story ends.

Brave boy

Parker had to go to the doctor for his 1 year check up this week. He had to get his shots and then they also had to draw some blood. This is the first time that they have taken it out of his arm. Before they just took it from his foot. I do not do well with the whole blood being drawn thing. So I am standing there holding Parker down and trying not to look, because if I do I know I will faint, and then trying to get him to look at me and not at the blood. He is such a funny kid because once the needle was in his arm he only wanted to watch the blood going down the tube. I couldn't believe it! He just laid there all calm and watched. He started crying again when they took the needle out, but still wow. I was impressed. So after all the shots and the blood being drawn I told Parker that we could go to McDonald's and get some french fries for him. It is his favorite. Once he was done eating his french fries we headed back to the car to go home and he threw up... needless to say it was a very hard day on him.

We have been very busy these last few weeks and our blogging has suffered because of it. Well Parker had his first birthday!! We had a birthday party for him and he got lots of books and toys. He even had his own cake. I made him this ducky cake. The duck was his cake and then everyone else got to share the "water" cake. We had lots of fun and were glad that so much of our families could make it.

Then the next day I gave April a baby shower. Everything went well and I think everyone liked the food. So needless to say I am partied out for a while. I also want to thank Amanda and Kylie for all their help!

Breaking Dawn

Well I finished Breaking Dawn and I of course it was wonderful. I was a little weary of it in the beginning, but it ended up being great (I mean really how could it not be?). Well as for other news my sister Kiersten came down from Utah for a visit and we are so excited to see her and spend time with her. She is going to be here until Thursday and then she is going home, which works well for us because we will be going to Bullhead City, AZ to visit Steve's family and to go boating. Steve had his birthday on Saturday and he got a bunch of new clothes and a new World of WarCraft character.

I decided to, once again, re-read the Twilight series to get ready for the new release of Breaking Dawn that comes out on August 2nd. I was trying to time it so that I would finish book three a day or two before book four comes out, but they are just too good! Once I start reading them I have to just keep going. There is no pacing. However, I have learned that I will never tire of reading the Twilight series. Here is a couple pictures of my tennis outfit.

Lessons

We have been very busy this past few weeks. Parker and I started taking a mom-and-tot class and we are loving it! He is very good at floating on his back, which is very unusual for babies, but he is still trying to figure out the kicking thing.

I have also been teaching a beginner 1 swimming class for my cousins who are 5 and 6 years old. They are improving quickly and it is nice to see that they are actually learning.

My friend Katie J. convinced me to take tennis lessons with her. We have only had 2 lessons so far, but I think that we are doing fairly well. My loving husband bought me a tennis outfit so I could look really cool when I play.

The River

For the 4th of July we went up to see Steve's parents. We decided to go out on the Colorado River and ride jet skis and the boat. Parker had his first experience on the jet ski and he wasn't scared at all, he actually was about to fall asleep at the very end of it.

Steve went out with his brother Garrett to Lake Mohave the next day. They had lots of fun, because they didn't have any kids, and got burned. Overall it was a very nice trip.

We bought Parker his own leather chair because he loved it and looked just so darn cute! It is a child size chair and he is learning how to get in and out of it pretty well.

vacation

This past weekend Steve and I went on our first vacation without Parker. We went to Lake Powell with the Haltermans, family friends. We stayed on a houseboat and had our ski boat and jet skis that we brought up. We were there for 4 days and had a blast. We were lucky and didn't get sunburned at all, we only got really nice tans. Twilight

Well I have been reading the Twilight books and I think they are just wonderful. On May 31st, my birthday, a new version came out of the third book (perfect timing). You can now buy the third book that has the fourth book's first chapter in it (if that makes sense). I got it for my birthday and yes... I read it that day. It also has iron on prints that say "Team Edward" or you can choose "Team Jacob". I am going to be using the "Team Edward" and if anyone wants the "Team Jacob" just let me know. So far I have found no one who whats it! If you have not read these books then you have no idea what I am talking about, but they are good. The ironic part is that the fourth book is released on Steve's birthday.

Utah Trip

We went to Utah this weekend for Garrett and Kylie`s wedding. We are so excited to have Kylie in our family. Everything was beautiful and went smoothly, which is exactly what every bride wants! The day after the wedding we were able to go to Lagoon, a water/amusement park, for my birthday. We had a lot of fun riding roller coasters and going swimming in the freezing cold water. Parker only made it through the first part of the day and was asleep for the water park. He was a trooper. Later we went to go visit my Grandmother and ate at her restaurant. The food was very good. It was nice to see her and my sister.

I just got done checking on Parker to put his blanket over him and I saw him asleep like this.

When he went down for bed he was asleep, but woke up about 30 minutes later and started crying. Steve and I just let him cry himself back to sleep. Now we see that he never gave up on us coming in to get him. Steve thinks he is as stubborn as I am.

graduation

Well I graduated Thursday night. It was a long ceremony with many speakers, but it ended up being very nice. Afterwards some friends and family came over for some cake and ice cream. It ended up being a pretty late night and Parker fell asleep in the car on the way home.

Amber, Kerry and their kids came down for my graduation and the next day we were able to hang out with them. Parker and I went swimming with them and had a blast. Parker is really starting to like swimming and is getting the hang of it. Here's a picture.

Beethoven begins

We have always tried to give Parker formula, but he would never take it. He would turn is head, cry, arch his back, pretty much do anything to get away from it. I just always thought it was because he didn't want formula only the "good stuff". He has been like this since birth when they tried to give him formula to keep his blood sugar up. Well the other day I decided that he needs to learn to take it so I waited until he was really hungry to give it to him. He fought me but ended up taking it. It took a while for him to drink it all, but he did. Then all of a sudden he spit it up all over me. I figured it was his way of getting back at me. So I went and changed and when came back I noticed that Parker had this rash all over his body. I felt so bad. He was having an allergic reaction to the formula. It lasted for about 30 minutes and then went away. So today I went out and bought some soy formula and am hoping that he will have a better experience with it. Here is a picture of Parker's meal all over me and a picture of some of the rash Parker got.

Well I finished all of my finals (and passed them!) and am graduating tomorrow night. I am so excited. I got a degree in Global Business with an emphasis in Finance. And I am graduating with honors. It was a lot of work, but it feels good to be done.

Parker has discovered the joy of playing the piano. He thinks it is so neat that he can hit this thing and it makes music. He is actually pretty good at it. If he could he would play for hours.

Today has been a very busy day for Parker. He decided that today he was going to eat Cheerios for the first time, then he decided he wanted to stand all by himself, then he decided it was time for him to start walking! I'm not talking one step, he took about 3 or 4 steps in a row all by himself. And lastly he thought he would learn how to crawl up the stairs. I guess when they decide that they want to learn they go all out. He has also been saying "Dada" a lot lately. I am not sure if he has put Steve and Dada together yet, but it is very cute to see him saying Dada all the time. We are working on saying Mama now that he can say Dada well.
As for me I just took one of my finals this week and I have two more classes left and then I am done! I graduate. There will be no more semesters, at least for a very long time. It is time for me to put all my focus on Steve and Parker.

Lost and Found

On Saturday we were cleaning out our storage shed in our back yard and in the process Steve found 4 newborn kittens. They were only a day or two old and were smaller than your hand. We were worried that the Mom had left the kittens and so we decided that we would leave them out there for about four hours and if we did not see the Mom then we were going to have to take care of these kitties. So we had some shopping to do and we bought some kitten baby bottles and formula and came home and they were still there with no mother so we gave them some milk. Later that night I sent out my brother to see if the Mom had come back and she was out there looking for her babies so we put them back out by the shed and one by one she took them somewhere else. It was a very cool experience.

Later that same day, Parker decided that it was time for him to start crawling. He got up on his hands and knees and started moving. He doesn't move very fast, but he can do it. He also learned that when he is crawling on his hands and knees he can sit down.

Restless Nights

We have started to put Parker to bed when he is not fully asleep to try to teach him to fall asleep on his own. The first few night were tough on him. It would take him about twenty minuets to fall asleep, then it went down to ten, then five and last night it was only two minuets. Well once he falls asleep sometimes we go in an check on him and we found him dead asleep in this position. He can almost fall asleep in any position. He is so cute.

There were 10 babies born in our Ward last year and we decided that we should get them all together and take a group picture. Only 8 of them were able to make it, but isn't their picture darling! After the first few shots one girl started to cry, then another, then another. Pretty soon most of the girls were crying. The boys held strong and didn't cry at all. We also got Parker's picture taken by himself. He just loves the camera. Well Parker has some exciting news of his own. He got his first tooth!!

For the first time Parker pulled himself up. He was sitting down in front of one of our recliners and grabbed on to the front of it and started to try to stand up. It took him a minute to figure it out and then all of a sudden, he was up. It was very exciting. Steve and I were right next to him and we both thought that the other was helping him get up, but we soon realized that neither of us was helping him.

We went up to Bullhead for Easter, and while we were sitting there, I thought of a dare for Amber. I have heard of this on YouTube, so I thought that I would dare Amber to do it, except I couldn't remember the exact amount, so I told her it was 2 tablespoons, and that I'd pay her 10 dollars if she did it. The video should explain the rest.
